Halifax NS, Transportation, Electrical and Mechanical Facility (TEME)

The construction of the Transportation, Electrical and Mechanical Facility had to deal with contaminated soil. Instead of removing the soil the project opted for a slab to be poured on top acting as a cover. Pierre Gagne Contracting was contracted to drill and install one hundred and eight  (18" to 36" diameter) steel casings complete with 3.5 meter rock sockets at varying overburden and rock depths. Overburden contained cobble stones and old building foundations. The project was located in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Canadian Forces Base.
