FDR Parkway Repair NYC

Working with Week Marine we assisted in building a temporary diversion of the FDR Parkway over the East River. We drilled 36" diameter deep water piles, some over 100' deep, beside the Parkway out in the East River. These piles were either used as support piles for the diversion or they were bumper guards for ships.

In order to assure that a wayward vessel could not crash into the completed diversion, deep sockets were drilled into bedrock, a large diameter chain inserted and cemented into the river bottom. The chains were then strung upward and tensioned creating a guard, keeping approaching ships for coming into contact with the diversion.
