Paper Building Transport

The building was located at a former paper mill under demolition on the north side of Thunder Bay. It was acquired by Midcontinent Terminal and Pierre Gagné Contracting was hired to transport it to the new location and place it on a concrete slab.

The building has an area of 5100 square feet and is 25 feet high. It has a prefabricated structure and it was originally sitting on a concrete footing. For the purposes of the move large steel beams were welded at the bottom of the columns. The building was lifted onto dollies and moved with a truck and a bulldozer to a barge. The barge was then moved with two tugs to the new location.
