MobilEx Terminal Dredging

MobileEx Terminal is a loop track grain loading facility. It services ocean going vessels and other bulk carriers. As it is located on the shores of Mission River sediment started accumulating on the bottom of the river. Pierre Gagné Contracting was hired to dredge the area to 8.5 meters below chart datum for Lake Superior.

We used a 120 ton Manitowoc crane fitted with a Erie dredging clam with a 2.3 cubic meters grab capacity. Dredging was performed on our McAllister 132 barge which is 104 meters long and can carry 6000 tones.
